Slip cast techniques

Porcelain slip - about glaze thickness, coats a fingernail but you can still see the outline clearly.

Cast - Cast into plaster mould. Pour out in 1 minute for 1-2 mm thick ware (very very delicate) or wait 5-7 minutes for 3-4 mm thick ware (still very delicate).

Resulting ware can be bisque without major warping. Firing at cone 10 seems to induce more warping, but that may be a function of the amount of glaze put on the piece. A normal glaze coating the piece may result in an increase of 100-300% percent in weight, which leads to significant warpage. Cone 06 firings seem to fare better.
